Though a native of Toronto, Sarah grew up an ardent Buffalo Sabres fan during the years that her uncle managed the team. Her earliest radio interviews can be traced to a home in western New York, where 9-year-old Sarah questioned the Sabres' General Manager about a player's torn ACL.
She has witnessed sport at its best -- as metaphor for life, as anthropological phenomenon, as sociological experimentation. But she also knows when to silence the violins, speed up the slow motion replay, and recognize when a game is nothing more than a game.
